The short version: SubCount doesn't collect your personal data, doesn't store your searches, and doesn't require an account. Here's the longer version.
What we collect
Nothing, directly. SubCount has no login, no user accounts, and no database. When you look up a Substack newsletter, the request goes from your browser to Substack's public API. We don't log which handles you search for, and we don't store results.
Server logs
Vercel, our hosting provider, may collect standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) as part of normal infrastructure operation. We don't actively access or analyse these logs. See Vercel's privacy policy for details on how they handle this data.
Affiliate links
SubCount contains affiliate links to Beehiiv. If you click an affiliate link and sign up, SubCount may earn a commission — at no cost to you.
Third-party requests
When you use SubCount, your browser makes requests to:
- Substack's API — to retrieve newsletter data
- Google Fonts — to load the typefaces used on the site
Each of these services has its own privacy policy and may set cookies or collect data independently of SubCount.
Cookies
SubCount itself sets no cookies.
Children's privacy
SubCount is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the service changes in ways that affect data handling. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
